Lee Hyo-jung Badminton Player

Lee Hyo-jung(born 13 January 1981 in Seoul) is a female badminton player from South Korea.

She won the gold medal in badminton mixed doubles at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics with her partner, Lee Yong-dae. Lee Hyo-jung and Lee Yong-dae were unseeded and in the finals they beat the top seeds and 2005 and 2007 world champions Lilyana Natsir and Nova Widianto of Indonesia, 21-11 , 21-17.

Lee Hyo-jung also won the silver medal in badminton women's doubles at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics with her partner, Lee Kyung-won; they were seeded fourth and lost to the second-seeded Chinese pair, Du Jing and Yu Yang.

In May, Lee competed in the 2010 Uber Cup as a member of the South Korean women's national team. There she led her team to its first Uber Cup trophy, winning all 4 doubles matches she competed in through the tourney. In finals, she and her partner Kim Min-Jung won against WR #1 Ma Jin and Wang Xiaoli, beating them 18-21, 21-12, 21-15. Although Lee and Kim were not regular partners and Lee Hyo-Jung stopped playing WD regularly in international games, Lee played exceptionally well, proving why she is the most successful player in 2008 Olympic winning both gold and silver medals.

In June, Lee continued on playing doubles with Kim Min-Jung, winning Indonesia Open and also finishing as a runner up in Singapore Open. While waiting for Lee Yong Dae to recover from his injury, she has been playing mixed double with Shin Baek-Cheol, although it hasn't been as successful as with Lee Yong-Dae. It is expected that Lee Yong-Dae would recover around August, and they would resume their mixed double partnership in World Championship in Paris.

Maria Kristin Yulianti (born June 2, 1985 in Tuban) is a women's singles badminton player from Indonesia. She is one of the most successful female Indonesian badminton players, along with Susi Susanti and Mia Audina.

This year might be her worst time in her career. She got injured from December last year, and played her first Super Series tournament in June. Before that time, she was followed Malaysia, but failed to enter the next round, after beaten by Zhang Beiwen in the first round. Then, she was represented Indonesia in Sudirman Cup by only winning her first match against Sayaka Sato.

Lee Chong Wei

Datuk Lee Chong Wei (born October 21, 1982 in Georgetown, Penang) is a professional badminton player from Malaysia who resides in Bukit Mertajam. Lee won the silver medal in the 2008 Olympic Games, thus becoming the first Malaysian to reach the final of the men's singles event and ending Malaysia's Olympic medal drought since the 1996 Games. This achievement also earned him the title Datuk, and a description by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak as national hero.

As a singles player, Lee was again ranked first worldwide on August 21, 2008. He is the third Malaysian men's singles shuttler after Rashid Sidek and Roslin Hashim to achieve such a ranking (since official rankings were first kept in the 1980s), and is the only Malaysian shuttler to hold the ranking for more than two weeks.

Lee started the year (2010) with the title in all events he took part, his first treble in the Super Series titles. His first ever Korea Open crown, sixth Malaysia Open, and defeated Kenichi Tago to win the oldest and prestigious badminton championship in the world, the All England Open, his first one since he took part in 2004.

In October, he helped Malaysia to beat India to defend the gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games mixed team event, then he also successfully defended his gold medal once again in the singles event a few days later. The following month he won a silver medal at the Asian Games. Despite beating reigning World Champion Chen Jin in the semi-final, Lee once again tasted defeat at the hands of his great rival, Lin Dan, in the final.

Lin belongs to the sports troop of the People's Liberation Army and has the military rank of lieutenant colonel.
