Perkins Arrested

"Former Celtic Kendrick Perkins was arrested early Saturday morning in his hometown of Beaumont, Texas on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Both are misdemeanors. According to reports, Perkins posted bond shortly after being booked and was released from Jefferson County Correctional Facility. Police said that Perkins was allegedly fighting the manager of a club called The Ticket when they arrived, according to an AP report (WEEI)."

This will all blow over and nothing will come of it, but damn I would not want to be the one that fights Perkins. Dude always looks pissed, not to mention is a huge guy. Imagine being the cops on this scene, you get there and you see a 7 foot, drunk, angry, Perkins beating up some manager. Honestly, I'd just go home.

Jalen Rose Going To Jail

A Michigan judge has sentenced former NBA guard Jalen Rose to serve 20 days in jail for a drunken driving crash along a snowy suburban Detroit road in March (sentenced actually to 92 days overall, with all but 72 days suspended, he also gets 1 year probabtion).

I usually going on a whole rant about how he is rich and should've got someone else to drive, which is damn true, but you know how I feel about that, so I will just give Jalen a little credit.

He admitted what he did, and even old the officer that he had six martinis that might, and pleaded guilty to the charge. 20 days in jail sucks, but it could've been worse and I hope ESPN doesn't fire him over this. He admitted what he did, he is going to serve his time and should be allowed to move on with his life once he has.

Cedric Benson Goes To Jail.... Again

With all the Steelers getting framed for things the passed couple of offseasons, it's finally good to see the police finally arrested a criminal.

Travis County sheriff's spokesman Roger Wade said Benson was arrested in downtown Austin on a misdemeanor count of assault with bodily injury with family violence. Benson attorney Sam Bassett said in a statement the arrest followed "a conflict" between Benson and a male former roommate. ESPN

This isn't good for Benson figuring he is an unrestricted free agent, and the end is in sights for the lock out. Figuring there are going to be a lot of fines/ suspensions once the lock out is lifted I expect Cedric to be suspended for a game, due to his continuous awful off field issues.

Forgetting about this, any team that gets Benson will have a quality runningback. He has rejuvenated his career in Cincinnati and will be a high priority free agent, so it will be interesting if this incident effects that at all.

Pacman Jones Is Getting It

"Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was arrested at a bar late Saturday night for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
Two police officers were forced to physically restrain Jones to apply handcuffs as he fought to pull away, the TV report says. Jones had been yelling profanities and waving his arms violently, according to WKRC-TV."

This obviously had no racial overtones, Adam Jones is a bad boy and deserves to get whatever came to him. I can see the incident right now, him and his boys were hanging out drinking E and J from the bottle, then Pacman said, "Hey let's get into some trouble tonight." then him and his boys stopped into a night club and shot a bunch of people and stole the money from an owner. After that they decided to sell a bunch of drugs in Nebraska using a crazy Jamaician guy named Ox to front them all the money for the drugs. And then the local gangster in Nebraska gets mad that they are invading their turf and decides to "drop a dime" on them, ruining the whole operation. Meanwhile Method Man is around for some reason and shoots the guy that dropped a dime, Ox gets killed by a female Jamaican assassin and Pacman finally gets caught.

I mean that could seem like the plot of Belly, but I'm pretty sure it was also the same thing that happened with Pacman.

Blow-up Sex Doll = 8 Years In Jail

"When 18-year-old Tyell Morton put a blow-up sex doll in a bathroom stall on the last day of school, he didn't expect school officials to call a bomb squad or that he'd be facing up to eight years in prison and a possible felony record.

A janitor at Rushville Consolidated High School saw Morton run away from the school May 31, and security footage showed a person in a hooded sweatshirt and gloves entering the school with a package and leaving five minutes later without it, according to court documents.

Administrators feared explosives, so they locked down the school and called police. K9 dogs and a bomb squad searched the building before finding the sex doll.

Morton was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and institutional criminal mischief, a felony that carries the potential of two to eight years in prison (MSNBC - Indiana)."

Wow, overreact much?

I can understand the initial response, and I can even understand that they are pissed off at this kid, but suspend him. There is no reason for this kid to have a record/jail time for putting a sex doll in a bathroom stall. These are the types of things that fuck up our generation so much. You fuck up in the slightest and it's on your record for good. Imagine when this kid is applying for a job and he has to try to explain this. He shouldn't even have to, and the fact that the state is going to waste money going after this poor kid is appalling.

Shaq's Retirement Plan: The Crips?

We all have been wondering what Shaq will do now that he had retired. Some thing he will hang low and maybe comeback for the playoffs next year (me), others think he will be be back on TV on TNT or something like that. None of would've guessed this...

"According to TMZ.com, Shaq is in the middle of a robbery, sex tape and kidnapping situation.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Ladell Rowles -- a member of the Main Street Mafia Crip Gang in L.A. who is friends with Shaq -- along with 6 other members went on a search and destroy mission in L.A. on February 11, 2008. They believed a man named Robert Ross had the sex tape and they tried getting it back with the help of a gun or two.

According to the police report, the seven gang members met up with Ross at a convenience store -- Pink Dot -- on the Sunset Strip. The men allegedly surrounded Ross' Rolls Royce Phantom with guns drawn, jumped into Ross' car and ordered him to drive to Rowles' house in South Central L.A.

Once there, Rowles allegedly pistol whipped Ross and demanded that he turn over the sex tape. Ross said he would get the tape and bring it back to them. The seven men then allegedly took Ross' Rolex, diamond chain and earrings, along with $15,000 in cash -- then let Ross go.

The seven men have been arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping and other crimes. They are currently in the middle of a preliminary hearing and being held in jail.

We've learned LAPD detectives interviewed Shaq to determine what, if any, involvement he had in the alleged crimes. When the case file went to the D.A. Shaq was not listed as a suspect (TMZ)."

Wow, didn't see that coming. I had no idea that Shaq had ties to the "crips", but then again it's not like TMZ is known for their accuracy in news story. I obviously hope he had nothing to do with this, because it would really destroy how I viewed him. Also, a Shaq sex tape it one of the scariest thing I think of. No one needs to see "The Diesel" going to town on some chick. I would think it would be a lot like a lion raping a guinea pig.

Reche "Bug Eye" Caldwell Busted For Pot

"Former Patriots wide receiver Reche Caldwell was arrested for possession of marijuana, according to the Gainesville (Fla.) Sun. Caldwell, who had the best season of his career when he was with New England in 2006 (61 catches, 760 yards and four touchdowns), was arrested Thursday morning in Hillsborough County, Fla., for possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis and driving with canceled/suspended/revoked license. He was released on a $750 cash bond. Caldwell, a 2002 draft pick out of Florida, also played with San Diego and Washington (WEEI)."

If there is anyone who should be allowed to smoke pot it's Caldwell, maybe it calms down his crazy ass eyes. Then again, there is probably no one that it would be more obvious was smoking pot then this guy, I mean his eye are constantly wide open, and while high probably extremely red.

Shin Soo Choo Busted For DUI

"Shin-Soo Choo spent Tuesday afternoon talking to each of his teammates, one by one, to express how sorry he is for his off-field arrest on suspicion of drunken driving and the embarrassment it caused. The Indians outfielder was arrested Monday after a breathalyzer test showed he had a blood-alcohol level of .201 -- more than double Ohio's legal limit of .08.

According to police, a patrolman first spoke to Choo at 2:25 a.m. He told the officer he was lost and needed directions to Avon Lake. Choo was allowed to continue driving, but was later pulled over when he twice crossed the double-yellow lines and drifted into a bike path. He told the officer his GPS had broken and he was unable to get directions home. Choo's eyes were bloodshot and he smelled of "an alcoholic beverage," police said, and he was ordered out of the SUV.

Choo was unable to complete a heel-to-toe walking test, losing his balance and he failed two other sobriety tests, the report said. He was taken to the police station and was given the breathalyzer test. Choo was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, having an excessive blood-alcohol level and a traffic violation (ESPN)."

Doesn't sound like it's going to be a big deal, as the MLB doesn't suspended players for DUIs, but this is starting to get out of control. It is only the beginning of May and already 6 MLB players have been arrested for DUIs. I don't know what the deal is, but these dudes really need to start hiring drivers or something.

Choo seemed really sorry about the whole thing, and I doubt this will be an on going problem.

What's the odds it happened after leaving a karaoke bar?

Listen Women Stop Stabbin' People

"CSNBayArea.com reports that Charlie Bell was allegedly stabbed by his wife, former Miss Michigan USA Kenya Bell, with a box cutter. Warriors guard Charlie Bell was reportedly stabbed by his wife in a domestic dispute last weekend in Michigan. Genessee County prosecutor David Leyton charged Bell's wife Kenya Bell, the former Miss Michigan USA, with domestic violence and assault with a dangerous weapon on Monday.

According to NBC25 and police accounts of the Sunday morning incident in Grand Blanc Township, Kenya Bell is accused of stabbing her husband with a box cutter.
MLive.com reports that the incident occurred in the presence of their children.
The assault occurred inside Charile Bell's home in Grand Blanc Township in the presence of two children, Leyton said. Leyton declined to release any more details on the incident. "It's a tragic situation," he said. "They're entitled to some privacy (CBS Sports)."

What the hell is going on lately with all these stabbings by wives? It was only 2 weeks ago Brandon Marshall got stabbed by his wives. I mean I'm sure all these guys have done something wrong, but even if they were cheating and what not, hasn't that been going on with athlete's wives since the beginning of time. Why is it now they they are grabbin box cutters and taking matters into their own hands. I don't know, but it seems to go back to DP's slogan of "Hoes Be Trippin'" and they flat out need to cut it out (no pun intended).

Derek Lowe Gets DUI

"The Georgia State Patrol says Atlanta Braves pitcher Derek Lowe has been charged with drunken driving. State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says a trooper stopped the 37-year-old Lowe's vehicle about 10 p.m. Thursday on an Atlanta street.

Wright says that during the course of the traffic stop, the trooper detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and administered a field sobriety test and Lowe was arrested. Wright says Lowe declined to take a breath test. He says Lowe was charged with DUI, reckless driving and improper lane change. He was released, and Wright didn't know if Lowe had an attorney (WEEI)."

From his time time the Sox this shouldn't be all that shocking, there were always rumors about Lowe having a drinking problem, and being very hungover on days he wasn't pitching. The Braves organization has had a rough week, they already had a coach making homophobic remark and scaring kids, and now you have one of your top pitcher getting a DUI. I doubt much will come of this, but it's just another distraction.

Albert Hayensworth In Trouble

Albert Haynesworth could be jailed for six months and fined $1,000 if convicted for sexual assault to a waitress. Apparently he fondled her breasts at a restaurant and thats a big no no apparently.

Hayensworth is not a good person. He has a lot of baggage surrounding him and has been a major headache to not only the Redskins but society. If I were the Redskins the 1st thing I would do would be cut this bum when they are allowed to. He obviously doesn't care about anything other than money, Redskins should rid themselves of this headache.

Oh So That's What Carl Everett's Up To (UPDATED)

"Former major league outfielder Carl Everett is in a Tampa jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with a witness. Jail records indicate the 39-year-old Everett was arrested Monday night at his suburban Tampa home. He was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail shortly after midnight and is being held without bond. Details of the arrest were not immediately available. Everett's attorney, Clinton Paris, did not immediately return a call for comment (ESPN)."

I was just thinking the other day, "I wonder what Carl Everett is up to these days", and this is probably the least shocking news. Carl Everett really should be in a insane asylum. Let's just quickly go over this guy's questionable moments...

- Headbutting an ump
- Shouting match with Seattle manager Mike Hargrove
- Saying he would retire if he found out a teammate of his was gay.
- Questioning the Apollo Moon Landing.

And my person favorite...

- Carl Everett's denial of the existence of dinosaurs. "God created the sun, the stars, the heavens and the earth, and then made Adam and Eve. The Bible never says anything about dinosaurs. You can't say there were dinosaurs when you never saw them. Somebody actually saw Adam and Eve. No one ever saw a Tyrannosaurus rex." He also derided fossils of dinosaur bones as man-made fakes (wiki)."

Yea, he's a pretty crazy guy, so to find out that he is out beating people up is really not all that shocking. At least we can say he was entertaining.

***UPDATE***

"The report states that the argument between the former big leaguer and Linda Everett escalated when he pointed a silver handgun at her head. When she attempted to call 911 on two different occasions, with two different phones, Everett broke both calling devices. The couple has been married for 18 years (WEEI)."

Sounds about right.

Stay Classy Lakers

Authorities say Los Angeles Lakers forward Derrick Caracter was arrested in New Orleans, accused of public drunkenness and shoving a pregnant cashier at a pancake restaurant.

This whole thing happened at 1am, and if I were the Lakers organization I would be pretty pissed off that a players is out that late after a loss. But to be fair, when I was in New Orleans and was out drunk at 1am, we always used to push pregnant ladies down. It's almost like a tradition down there.

But as an NBA player he should have known better not to put himself in this position.

WTF Mike Leake?

"Reds pitcher Mike Leake was arrested on a shoplifting charge at a downtown department store Monday, accused of trying to steal six shirts with a total value of $59.88. The 23-year-old starter was booked at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a first-degree misdemeanor charge of shoplifting. It carries a maximum of 180 days in jail (ESPN)."

What the hell is this guys problem? I mean it's not like he was wasted or something, and although he is on a rookie contract he still makes $400,000+. I guess it is one of those thrill things, but is there anything really thrilling about stealing something that doesn't even cost 60 bucks. This is really lame, but I doubt much will come of it, since he will just way a fine, and maybe do a little community service.

Nicolas Cage Isn't Very Smart

"Actor Nicolas Cage was arrested early Saturday in New Orleans for domestic abuse after a loud public argument with his wife, TMZ reported.

Witnesses said Cage was "very drunk" and arguing loudly with his wife Alice on the streets of New Orleans early Saturday morning. A cab driver said he saw Cage push his wife and called police (FoxNews)."

Doesn't sound all that funny until more and more came ou about exactly what was going on here. Apparently the cops came, and basically just told him to go home, for which Cage replied "Why don't you just arrest me?". Not the smartest thing, since they once again asked him to go home, and he repeated the same thing again. Ok, kinda funny, but here's the kicker...

"Onlookers complained that Cage was “very drunk” and arguing loudly with his wife Alice Kim on the street about a home he mistakenly believed was his own. According to a statement released to Radar by the NOPD, Kim tried to correct him, at which time Cage allegedly pulled Kim by the arm to the home he believed was their rental (FoxNews)."

Hahahaha, what a dumbass. A couple years back I would've defended him, because he was pumping out some awesome movies (The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air, ect), but having to sit through Ghost Rider, and news that he is making another one I have given up that he is going to get back to doing his awesome 90's flicks. But hey, Charlie Sheen has made a killing off being a silly drunk, so maybe Cage is just following suit.

Another NFL Player Arrest

Seems to happen at least 2-3 times a week. The latest one involved Kenny Britt...

"Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt faces three charges stemming from a police chase in his hometown of Bayonne, N.J., according to reports. Britt was charged with eluding an officer, lying to an officer hindering apprehension, and obstructing government function, according to FOXSports.com. Police say the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon when Britt was caught driving 71 mph in a 50 mph zone. When an officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, Britt accelerated and wove through traffic before exiting, the police report said.

Britt and his passenger, Jerel Lord, were seen walking away from the parked vehicle on a local street and were questioned by police. Lord, who police say attempted to run before being apprehended, also faces three charges including one of marijuana possession. Britt admitted ownership of the Porsche but denied having been behind the wheel. The two men were released on summons and will have a hearing, though no date has been set (ESPN)."

Not sure how much trouble he will get in with the law, but you would have to think he is going to get suspended from NFL for a couple games for this. Britt has been arrested for a bunch of unpaid traffic violations before (no big deal), and was also questioned about his involvement in a bar fight back in October, so it's not like this is the first time he has shown up on the NFL radar.

Britt is a pretty good player, who could really breakout if he could get any kind of Qb to throw to him. He had almost 800 yards last year, and 9 TDs last year, which is pretty impressive since he missed 4 games due to injury.

There isn't much the NFL can do, but suspended these guys, but this is getting out of hand.
