Maybe Knicks Avoid The Isiah Storm

Knick fans are pissing their pants that Isiah Thomas might just walk though that door once again. Well, today comes word that the Pistons have him on their short list of candidates for the heading coaching vacancy. The others on the list are Mike Woodson, Kelvin Sampson and Bill Laimbeer.

Why anyone would hire this ass clown is beyond me. He had his chance in the NBA and failed so awesomely that people kind of forget what kind of player he was. The Pistons were a mess last year, and the last thing they need is this jackass walking into the locker room.

Knicks Don't Re-Sign Donnie Walsh

Last Firday afternoon the news came out that the Knicks were able to bring back President Donnie Walsh. The man who single handedly brought the Knicks back to relevancy.

Walsh became the Knicks president on April 2, 2008. Remarkably, it only took him roughly three years to right the ship in New York, cleaning up the horrific mess that Isiah Thomas left.

Walsh was able to creatively move all these giant contract and eventually found a way to get Amare Stoudemire and able to eventually make the trade for Carmelo.

James Dolan is out of his mind, and you know what he's going to do? Bring Isiah back. This move makes no sense, I guess Walsh only wanted a one year deal and the Knicks wanted to sign him long term, but who cares? Sign him for 1 year and deal with it next year.

Oh well.... looks like the Knicks will be back to being the laughing stock of the NBA again.

Knicks Smarter Than They Look?

"Knicks president Donnie Walsh is close to signing a contract extension with the team and has been told that owner James Dolan won't bring back Isiah Thomas in any capacity, reports Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Berman writes: "Walsh is expected to be granted permission to hire his successor as a central part of a new agreement that should be formally announced shortly. ... Dolan has remained friendly with Thomas but no longer trusts him to the point of giving him another basketball job (ESPN)."

Thank fucking Christ!!!! This story has perplexed me from the very beginning. This would be like the Celtics firing Doc Rivers and giving Rick Pitino another shot (maybe even worse). So rest easy Knick fans, it looks like the black cloud that is Isiah Thomas (and his life) are not going to be hovering over MSG anytime soon.

There are rumors that Allan Houston could be the next guy that comes in and tries to run the Knicks. I always like him, so I'm glad he gets a shot.

Hey Campus Socialite.... Tell Me How My Ass Tastes

I know all of the Knicks and the Knicks fans are stoked today. I mean they had a good year, they played well. If you just listened to the post game conferences yesterday you would have thought they won the series. Amare, Melo and D'Antoni were all surprisingly ok with a 42 win season than getting swept in the 1st round of the playoffs. I mean if you factor in the losses in the playoffs you were an under .500 team. That can't be what you expected with two "All-Stars" in your starting lineup.

I'm not going to be as vicious as the Answer, but seriously the "work in progress" excuse isn't something I would be ok with New York. Right now you have Amare and Melo.... who are you going to add? Seriously? You need a PG and you need a relevant big men and with the potential hard salary cap coming up what makes you think you will have money to sign anyone? I guess you guys can sit back and dream that Howard and Paul are eventually going to come, but does that make 2011-2012 season just another "work in progress" year?

If I was a Knicks fan I would be very concerned about how Melo acted in this series. Don't get me wrong, overall he played pretty damn well, but as a fan how did it feel for him to say "he had fun" after a Game 2 loss? I just can't see a guy like KG, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, or Rajon Rondo ever saying anything like that. Maybe it's just a different team, but that's not an outlook I would want my team to have. It's basically like saying "well, I had a good game, so who gives a fuck?"

To be honest with you Campus Socialite, I don't want to boast too much, because we did what we needed to do. We beat a far inferior team in 4 games. Better luck next year when you get rid of Donnie Walsh an bring back Isiah Thomas.

101 Celtics, 89 Knicks, Celtics Complete Sweep

When Doc says it's a wrap, it's a wrap. Sure the Celtics blew a 23 point lead to make it a 4 point game at one point. But who really cares now that the Celtics swept the Knicks (This was the 1st sweep in the new Big 3 era) and now get to rest until next Sunday. 4 days ago people were wondering how this team was going to survive the Knicks, sure they were 2-0 but basically needed buzzer beaters to win, then the switch went on. In Madison Square Garden debut the Celtics throttled the Knicks and beat them by 19. Rajon made MSG his personal playground and finished with 15 points, 12 boards and 20 assists. And then last night the switch stayed on at they were up by 23, had a little hiccup and then closed them out with a 12 point decision.

The starters were unreal this whole series and even the bench played well last night. Like The Answer said, the Knicks fans will always have the excuse, "You caught us when we were unhealthy" let's just be honest the way the Celtics played last night and the game before the Olympic team would have a hard time. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce had great games shooting the ball all series and if that still carries over, the Heat (or Sixers, probably Heat) will have a long series.

Also Jermaine O'Neal was quiet the bargain. he may have been MIA the whole year, but he has already proved his contract in round 1. Jermaine was a blocking machine and made any Knick that was going to the paint have to think twice about putting a shot up.

The Celtics are rolling now and they get the all mighty rest going into next series. A series that everyone wanted all year. See ya in South Beach LeBrick.

The Answer: I CAN HEAR PINS FALL ON THE FLOOR AT MSG

I'd like to take this moment to give my final rebuttal to Social whatever (yes whatever, or social fuck as I called it last time. It wasn't a dis, I just don't give a shit to know the name)

Your guys rebuttal to me first started personal. Well, to respond to that, don't all emotional buddy, theres always next year.

Now on to bball, and I'll make it quick so I can go back to my real life. We had some talks about the past last time. I guess theres no need to go there because our history is the best in all of basketball. I mean denying that is just denial right, so we can all agree to leave the past out of it.

We talked about the present and the future and thats where we can stay. You and all of Knick fans every will say we ALMOST beat you in game one and two with out billups. Let me explain something to you though I guess you guys have been losing for so long that it feels like a win when you come within 2 points...it's not. I't still a loss. Both times. And sure, with Jared Jeffries on the floor you almost won twice. So does that make the series competitive...NO. It's 3-0. It's not. I'm not sure how much basketball you watch but this is that playoffs. Every win is a grind. The playoffs are about grinding out W's. Thats it. There are rarely blow outs...oh wait...sorry, besides the other night. But for the rest of the league. Look around. Look how the Hornets beat the Lakers in game 1 without David West. I mean it happens. Playoffs are all about closing out games that are close. And I want to say sorry from the bottom of my heart because really you have nothing. You guys were never close. Spin it in your head like you were, but look at the facts. We've beaten you the last 7 times we played. Your down 3-0 in the series. And you got blown out on the epic homecoming to the Garden. You guys are not even remotely close. Which brings me to the future.

You guys obviously have a very long way to go. You have two amazing players to build around. But lets face it, you guys are so far away its crazy. You guys haven't even competed in this series. If you guys get swept, it will be back to the drawing broad. Now hold up, since I don't want you to respond to this let me make all your excuses for you, and then reply so we can save times.

Billups is hurt - get use to it, he won't resign next season

Ama're is hurt- if your on the court....you can play...don't be a pussy.

We are a brand new team still trying to learn each other- Have you looked at the Celtics. 5 new players at the deadline.

Garnett plays dirty- So?

You guys cheated- If you don't cheat you don't try.

You'll get beat by the Heat. Nah...we won't, but either way you'll be watching it not playing in it.

Listen, I'm sorry to Knick fans everywhere that your team sucks. And when you do get good...its will be in the wrong era. Bulls aren't going anywhere. The Heat aren't going anywhere. The Thunder are the future. I can honestly say that this current Knick teams core will NEVER win a championship. I really believe that. Not because you guys won't ever be good enough. Because Honestly, I love Carmelo, I think you could build around him. I think they will, but sorry, never gonna be better than the teams I just named.

So in conclusion of this entire ordeal, since the series is all but over. Not yet for the Knicks. We already new that. But what we learned from this series is they have a long way to go. And at least you'll be able to say you lost to the champs. Peace.

Celtics Updates

"On Wednesday, the Knicks received the kind of news they can least afford to have: MRI exams showed that Amar'e Stoudemire has a pulled muscle in his back and Chauncey Billups has a strained left knee, according to ESPNNewYork.com."

Also that report on Shaq being out for the playoffs was wrong, Doc said he can play Sunday.

Well I kind of figured Amare would play, but I also figured Billups would be out. That's good for the Celtics as we saw Rondo completely abuse Toney Douglas' lack of defense. i know Amare is still sore with a torn back muscle so if I were KG or Jermaine I would go at him early and often to see how he responds to it. As for Shaq, I has no idea what to think anymore, I'm just going to look the other way and pretend like this problem doesn't exist.

Response To No Moral Victories

During the entire Knicks vs. Celtics playoffs series, The Campus Socialite (Knicks) will square off against Dueling Couches (Celtics) in a trash talk showdown. We’re taking this rivalry from the courts to the blogs.

Those scumbag New Yorkers obviously are getting nervous over there in shit city that they feel the need to defend an 0-2 team in the playoff that are most likely going to lose Chauncey Billups and Amare for game 2. The responded to our No Moral Victories post.

Here it is:
Under normal circumstances it would suck to write a post after losing two consecutive playoff games by a total of 4 points. Nobody likes to lose and there is definitely no such thing as a moral victory in the playoffs. But shit, we played our asses off last night, Melo did EXACTLY what I said he’d do, dominated an inferior team. There isn’t a player in the NBA who can guard Melo when his jumper is falling like it was last night. Plenty of New Yorkers are playing the “if we only had our starters” game and it may even be true that losing an MVP quality player for the most important game your team has played in ten years is less than ideal. More so than that though, we SHOULD have beaten the defending Eastern Conference Champions for the second game in a row last night. We out-played them, had a lead in the final minute and just couldn’t seal the deal. The unfortunate excuse of an NBA basketball player that is Jared Jeffries has graced us with his incompetence once again. He teased us with a dynamic driving layup to take the lead in the final minute only to completely blow the game on the final two important possessions. The coaching mistakes were evident, Carmelo MUST come off of Delonte West and double Garnett in the post and Dantoni is directly to blame for not making that known. Also, in his post-game presser Mike D said “Melo was gassed and couldn’t chase Delonte into the backcourt on the final play”. THEN TAKE HIM OUT AND HAVE SOMEONE FRESH MAKE THE FOUL!!! We are fouling on purpose anyway and could have brought Carmelo back in the game after the first free throw. I wanted to see, for once in the past 2+ seasons, Dantoni actually win a game by outcoaching his counterpart and now I have no faith that will ever happen.

It is going to take an infusion from THE Garden crown on Friday night to bring the Bockers back into this series and that is exactly what we are going to get. The place is going to be rocking, you will feel it through the television. People in Boston will be drinking discounted beers in their mom’s basements and screaming at the tv in horror. They won’t understand what is happening, their hated NY fan base showing up and making a difference in the game? WOW. We don’t need bad calls and dirty players to win, yea im talking to you KG and Big Baby. It amazing what these guys get away with and then scream and cry whenever they hear a whistle. Bunch of bitches on that Boston team and I “CANT WAIT” (Bart Scott Voice) to take them out of the playoffs just like the J-E-T-S did to Tom Brady and his soft bunch of pussies in January.

The Answer Gets An Answer

During the entire Knicks vs. Celtics playoffs series, The Campus Socialite (Knicks) will square off against Dueling Couches (Celtics) in a trash talk showdown. We’re taking this rivalry from the courts to the blogs.

Remember when our own Answer ranted about this

“Ummm so I just got done reading this little battle between DC and Camp Social Fuck and I’m checking into the game here. Now I’m not doing it because I have some long rant and rebuttal to their stupid fucking article about the 90′s, I actually only have one thing to say (and I’ll take this moment to say a few other things.)” More

Well the Campus Social Fucks responded:
First was a response by someone called “The Answer” which ironically only left me with questions, like who allowed this clown to actually publish something on their site, and why everything he says contradicts itself to the point that I don’t know what the hell this dude is trying to accomplish. My time spent on replying to “The Answer” will be limited simply because I have better shit to do. In response to you calling us “Camp Social Fuck”, that sounds like the most awesome place ever, and being that you probably can’t afford a lawyer I am going to go ahead coin that phrase, and make a t-shirt out of it.

Then on to your actual commentary about the game I will say the following; I find it funny that you feel Rondo (can’t shoot), Jeff Green (bum), and Big Baby (mush) lead you to a level of confidence in the future. The fact that you are counting on a draft pick and the hope of a free agent, doesn’t sound very promising either.

To your points on defense, and the Knicks lack there of, we have held your Boston Celtics under 100 pts two games in a row. I think our defense has been decent enough. And to demonstrate how contradictory your ignorant arguments are, you first mention how D’Antoni will be fired, and then say how we wont ever win a championship because of his game plan. Good point dude. Well thought out.

You compare the Knicks to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks don’t have Melo or Amare, they have Josh Smith. Relax on that comparison kid.

The Knicks were by far the more effective team in the half court offense, it was Boston’s offense that all came from their running game. If you have watched the Knicks in this series or prior to the playoffs, you would know that with the addition of Melo and Billups we have transformed them from a running team to a more half court offense. Which makes your statement about how the knicks running style offense will never win in the playoffs, irrelevant. Lastly, RAY ALLEN might be the best shooter ever, but he was only open because Garnett tripped Toney Douglas, and the ref didn’t call it because you blew him before the game.

Im out.

- Drew

THERE ARE NO MORAL VICTORIES NEW YORK!!!

During the entire Knicks vs. Celtics playoffs series, The Campus Socialite (Knicks) will square off against Dueling Couches (Celtics) in a trash talk showdown. We’re taking this rivalry from the courts to the blogs.

Hey New York, I'll see ya in Madison Square up 2-0. I'll admit that was a valiant effort you put in last night without Amare Stoudemire and Chauncey Billups, but the fact is the Knicks franchise hasn't won playoff game in bazillion games and that trend continues and will continue.

I've been hearing the excuses all morning, IF we had Amare, IF we had Chauncey, IF Jared Jeffries put the shot up strong we WOULD have won the game or we NEARLY beat you without Amare and Billups, so next game we will get you for sure. This one also makes me laugh, and even our friend Drew Austin at Campus Socialite was guilty of it on twitter, "Fire Mike D'Antoni", C'mon man what do you expect from him when you have a bunch of D Leaguers and Carmelo Anthony playing against the best team in the NBA? If anything he deserves more credit for having that team play a close game. Let me make this clear New York, there are no moral victories, especially in the playoffs when you are down 0-2.

What is really painful is having to listen to all this crying over the refs. Do Knick fans realize that they were at the line 11 more times then the Celtics? There were blown calls on both sides, and it's really sad to hear a fan base cry that much when you had such an advantage in free throw attempts.

Let me tell you some facts going into game 3. Don't expect the Knicks to have 53 rebounds including 20 offensive boards. Without that, this game would have been a blowout, we essentially gave New York 24 free points. Above all the rebounding problems it was the Celtics bench that really let them down. Big Baby had the worst game of his NBA career. He was letting guys blow by him, couldn't pull down a board if his life depended on it, and just looked out of it all game. That won't happen again. He is much better then that, and is the key to the 2nd unit. If the bench plays even close to the way they should this would've been an easy 10+ point victory. Also, Don't expect Carmelo to be that hot ever again. Yes, he had a hell of a game, and is a hell of a scorer, but he was hitting shots that he had no business making and will NEVER be able to take 30 shots against the Celtics again and make 47% of them.

With all that being said, next game will be exciting for sure, I want the Knicks to have Billups and Stoudemire back just so we can beat them again, and stop hearing the excuses that are flooding out of New York. This year alone we saw two awesome games at MSG, the 1st was when Pierce hit a step back over Amare to win the game and the 2nd was when the Celtics came back from 15 to beat the Knicks. It was great, we got to see KG and Pierce quiet a room full of greasy, loud New Yorkers. So, as much as you'll hear New Yorkers get all hyped up over finally having a meaningful game at MSG, the Celtics will do what they always do... WIN GAMES.

96 Celtics, 93 Knicks

The Celtics played their 2nd intense game in this playoffs, but the only thing matters is they are up 2-0. The short handed Knicks already played the game without the Chauncey Billups but it got even worse for them when they lost Amare Stoudemire due to pack spasms. But Like Doc said, "They got us right where they wanted". The Celtics must have been so Stoudemire focused throughout the whole day off, that they became completely unaware when it came to simple tasks like boxing out, rebounding or positioning themselves on defensive assignments.

Let me start off with the bad. The bench was awful, they had a combined 14 points and were putrid. Glen Davis played his worst game as a pro. He didn't attempt to play defense, he didn't box out and he didn't do anything worth while. Jeff Green has been somewhat of a disaster and it's been so frustrating to watch him because we know he has talent, he just lacks confidence. We saw it for 10 seconds where he knocked a 3 down and then missed the next one and then was never seen from again. Delonte West is too hesitant, he constantly has a wide open shot and up fakes and passes rather then just letting the shot go. Shoot the ball Delonte!

Also, we need to rebound the ball. We got out rebounded 53 (20 offensive) to 37 (9 offensive). It was the most frustrating thing to witness.

Melo was also lights out and scored 42 points and 17 boards.

Now the good. I guess no one will be bashing Rondo anymore. He carried the Celtics this whole game on the offensive end, he was aggressive, stayed aggressive and finished the game with 30 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. He really took his game up to another level this game especially when he felt the Celtics offensive lagging he did the dirty work and scored. KG (12 points 6-16 shooting, 10 rebounds) was having an off night but made two plays, two plays that caused the Celtics to win the game. 1st was with the Celtics down 1 Doc drew up a play to get KG the ball and he backed down Jared Jeffries and hit a jump shot to make the score 94-93. The 2nd was when he stole the ball from Jeffries and then called the time out after diving on the ball.

We need a blow out game in game 3 because my heart can't take this anymore. Whatever we are up 2-0. Fuck the Knicks!

The Answer: I Want In This War!!!

Ummm so I just got done reading this little battle between DC and Camp Social Fuck and I'm checking into the game here. Now I'm not doing it because I have some long rant and rebuttal to their stupid fucking article about the 90's, I actually only have one thing to say (and I'll take this moment to say a few other things.)

Dear Knick fans...mark my words. YOU WILL NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH THIS TEAM. Thats right I said it. Somebody had to say it. Am I a hater? I don't think so. I like to think of myself as the most biased realist Boston fan there is. Your right about one thing, this is our least year of this run. Maybe we can squeeze next year out to. But to say we will be back to the 90's is just plain stupid. Rondo is locked up for 5 years. If I'm a big time free agent and I'm looking for a big city to play in, who will I join? Theres a handful of cities to go to but only one that has the best distributor in the game. So trust me, Rondo, Jeff Green, the Cavs lotto pick, Big Baby, and some big free agent, I like our chances. But as I digress I want to get back to the point.

Amare' is awesome. Melo is maybe the best scorer in the world. But I'm so sorry to report, defense wins titles. Not fucking scorers. Now your coach, (who will be fired after this season) doesn't give two fucks about defense. You can call Melo's foul at the end of the game dumb and the reason you lost. You can call Melo's 3 pointer hail mary a stupid shot and the reason you lost. We can't point out 20 plays throughout the night that give you guys the loss. But lets look at the facts. Boston and New York both had an opportunity for a game winner. Boston capitalized, Knicks did not. But not on offense...ON DEFENSE. Theres a good reason Melo chucked up a hail mary. There was no where else to go. We won that game on a defensive stop. Now lets back track 12 seconds before. Let me explain the facts here real fucking simple so you retards don't miss anything. I'll speak slow so those of you with PhD's in the room can understand what I'm saying: If Ray Allen, the best shoot EVER is wide open for a game winner, thats bad defense. And thats the reason you lost. BAD DEFENSE. This will continue to happen, over and over again.

Lets break down the Knicks for a second and your not so bright future. You have Melo. Arguably one of the worst defenders in the whole league. You have Amare, arguably one of the worst defenders in the league. You have a coach who doesn't care about defense.

Diantoni's strategy is get the best shot you can in the first 7 seconds of the shot clock. Run, Run, Run until the other team can't stand. Let me make the point that in the regular season the strategy works and works well. But do some research instead of making bold ass claims. Look at our last 10 champions, Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Spurs, Pistons combine for the last 10 rings. All HALF COURT TEAMS. For those of you who don't get this concept I'll make it simple for the basketball idiots reading. Up tempo teams, such as the Knicks, Hawks, 76ers, never win in the playoffs. They have one gear...5th. Half court teams usually have a point guard who has all gears and can slow the game down. If you can't play in the half court, your team isn't built for the playoffs.

So Knick fans, buckle up for the next 8 years. Great regular season, early exits from the playoffs. Take that to the bank. If you wanna dismiss what I'm saying your not being realistic. The Atlanta Hawks are a great example of your future. Look at them. Look at their roster. It looks good on paper. They play great basketball. They've had the same team for years and never get out of the second round. Why? Because they don't know how to slow down the game and get easy buckets.

So in conclusion, stop living in the past. Let the 90's be the 90's. And if your bringing up the 90's in this fight well, don't. We don't like attacking unarmed armies, because bringing up the 90's is like saying, well, we got nothing on you now but remember back in the day. Oh yeah by the way, if you really wanna live in the past, you really wanna go there, don't do it with the Celtics. Cause all we say then is 17 rings bitch, how many you got? Thats what I thought. Lets focus on the future, which I just showed you isn't going to be all that great either. So really the moral of the story is keep your mouth shut and take whats coming to you. And heres to another 20 years for shitty Kicks basketball.

Another Reason to Hate New York... The Knicks

During the entire Knicks vs. Celtics playoffs series, The Campus Socialite (Knicks) will square off against Dueling Couches (Celtics) in a trash talk showdown. We’re taking this rivalry from the courts to the blogs.

For all of those who aren't familiar with DuelingCouches.com we've have been very outspoken about how the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony and the aura surrounding the gulag known as Madison Square Garden to be the most overrated and overhyped franchise in the NBA.

First off the Knicks and the hype surrounding the Carmelo Anthony trade was absolutely ridiculous. Do I agree with the trade? Absolutely. I feel it was a real good move for them now and long term. They gave up Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash for Anthony and Chauncey Billups and some scrubs. Who would have thought that the 2nd most important player in the deal would be Billups, behind Amare Stoudemire? Carmelo is a nice piece, however people (idiot New Yorkers) believing this team would be a contending team rather than a happy to be in the playoffs team is retarded.

Carmelo Anthony is an outstanding player, no doubt, but the real leader of this team is and will always be Amare Stoudemire. As we saw in game 1 against the Celtics, the Knicks were dominating the Celtics when Amare was the primary scorer and Billups was the main ball handler. As soon as Melo decided to "take over" the game he showed Knicks' fans exactly who they got, which is a ball hogging moron who cares more about his perception then winning game. In the last 11 possessions of the game, Amare didn't get the ball, while Melo went 5-18. That is absurd considering Amare was 12 for 18 in the game and dominating in the paint. You can put some blame on Mike D'Antoni who got completely outcoached by Doc Rivers in the second half, or even that Billups got injured in the final minute, but if your so called "Batman" wants to bring his game to superstar level he needs to pass the ball, instead of tough fade aways or a emotional offensive foul. You want to see how it's done, the Knicks only half to look across the court to a man named Paul Pierce who gave up the final shot and let Ray Allen be the hero. Carmelo cost the Knicks game 1, a winnable game, but instead they are going to play tomorrow in Boston down 0-1 and without their former All Star point guard, when all "Batman" had to do was let Robin take them home.

We shouldn't be surprised about the Knicks overhyping something though. Look at what they do with Madison Square Garden. How is that place so special when the only thing that happens is losing? Really, it is just sad at this point that they even call this Celtics/Knicks games "rivalry games". Paul Pierce said it best "maybe this will be a rivalry when I retire".

We were at the game and the whole time without even looking at shirts or jerseys you could tell who the scumbag Knick fans were. They are loud, obnoxious and are completely entitled for no real reason. If a Knicks fan can tell me how they have been relevant since Willis Reed came back into the game, I'd be shocked. You know what the Knicks are known for in the passed 30 years? Reggie Miller, and them choking (both on the court, and Sprewell). During the whole game they were popping their Stephon Marbury and Penny Hardaway jerseys (I know, that's the most ridiculous thing in the world, that would be like us Boston fans rocking a Vin Baker Jersey or dressing up like Rick Pitino), so it was unbelievable to see how humbled they got when Ray Allen's shot tickled the twine to win the game.

So in my closing statement in this rant, I just want to give the Knicks a big thank you for giving us game 1, we will need the extra time to rest going into round 2.

You can go to Campus Socialite to hear thier rant against the Celtics, and check back the day after every Celtics vs. Knicks game to hear both sides of thier "series".

Celtics vs Knicks Preview

Depth Chart

New York (PPG)
Boston (PPG)
PG C. Billups 10.0R. Rondo 10.0
SG L. Fields 0.0R. Allen 24.0
SF C. Anthony 15.0P. Pierce 18.0
PF A. Stoudemire 28.0K. Garnett 15.0
C R. Turiaf 9.0J. O'Neal 12.0

Still no official word on Chauncey Billups, but I'm going to assume he's not going to play and Toney Douglas will start. That changes the game a lot but should not be taken lightly. Douglas isn't Chauncey but he can still knock down a shot when open. So as much as I like Rajon's gambling ways, he needs to at least keep an eye on him.

The Celtics had a great win in game 1, but I'd like to see the offense get in sync, especially from Jeff Green. We got him in here to be a good bench scorer and I thought he would average between 10-15 a game and he hasn't done much at all. Jeff is invisible and he needs to be a ball hog in the 2nd unit, but since he hasn't been doing that all year, I guess the chances are slim to none.

But as we saw Sunday night the Celtics are a lot better when Rajon stays aggressive. When he wasn't in the 1st half the Celtics offense stalled, when he was aggressive the Celtics won the game. Rajon is going to play aggressive all game and the Celtics will dominate this game and the Knicks are going to have a huge game from Melo, who will take close to 30 shots because their won't be a Billups there to tell him to stop being a ball hog.

87 Celtics, 85 Knicks

I'n a drunken rant I had on March 21st I said that Carmelo is no good and that the only star on this team is Amare Stoudemire. Last night just validated my opinion. The Knicks played the game of their life, they played good defense, they kept the Celtics off rhythm and they had this game, until Ray Allen sunk a 3 with 12 seconds left.

IF the Knicks won this game it would have been bad news for the Celtics, they held them to under 90 points, they would have stolen home court advantage. Luckily that didn't happen and probably won't again this series. The Knicks will not be as dedicated on defense anymore, especially after losing this game and are going to go back to their run and gun ways.

Amare Stoudemire was an unstoppable force for much of the game he had 28 points, 11 boards and shot 12-18. The Celtics just couldn't figure him out, but for some odd god reason the Knicks went away from him and went to Melo. He scored 10 points in the 4th quarter, but he didn't touch the ball in the final 3 minutes. Melo thanked them with an offensive foul and a stupid 3 pointer at the end of the game.

The Celtics got away with them and they turned up their defensive intensity in the 2nd half to the playoff expectations, so hopefully that is the switch. Oh yea, speaking of a switch April 17th will be known as Jermaine O'Neal Day as he went to the way back machine and was great defensively. He finished with 12 points, 6-6 shooting, and 4 blocks. Jermaine has been playing like a tough son of a bitch lately. If he can play with that intensity for the rest of this series, I'll be fine with Shaq sitting out this series.

Chauncey Billups was helped off the court late in the 4th. He suffered what appeared to be a knee injury. It looked serious.

Celtics 1st Round Schedule Released

The NBA announced the rest of the schedule for the Celtics-Knicks first round playoff series. Games 5, 6 and 7 are if necessary and some times are still to be determined (TBD).

Game 1: Sunday At Boston, 7 p.m.

Game 2: Tuesday at Boston, 7 p.m.

Game 3: Friday at New York, TBD

Game 4: Sunday at New York, 3:30 p.m.

Game 5: Tuesday April 26 at Boston, TBD

Game 6: Friday, April 29 at New York, TBD

Game 7: Sunday, May 1 at Boston, TBD

The Celtics and the Knicks will square off Sunday to kick off the playoffs, and the more and more I think of it and I may be even a little presumptuous for this. I don't think they should play Shaq. The Knicks are going to run and I honestly believe we can get passed them without Shaq, so why strain the big man. Jermaine has been playing fine and we can be fine him, Krstic and Baby holding down the 5 spot.

Also this is a big series for Rajon, he's had all the rest he should need, and he is going against the 2011 Chauncey Billups and not the 2005 one. With all due respect to Mr. Big Shot, he shouldn't be able to keep Rondo in front of him for even 1 possession. I see the Knicks taking a game but nothing more.

112 Celtics, 102 Knicks

Well a couple things were proven last night. Our bench can beat the Knicks bench in a full basketball game and Avery Bradley may have some talent. Bradley had 20 points on 10-16 shooting in a game that really meant nothing.

Doc sat KG, Ray, Paul, Rondo and Jermaine yesterday. I like that a lot and the rest will be most beneficial to Rondo than anyone else. Everyone, including my compadre BMack is quick to point the finger at Rondo saying he's slacking, regressing, has attitude issues etc, but don't realize for almost 3/4 of the season he was playing 42 minutes a game with no help at back up. Of course it's never a bad thing the old guys Paul, KG, Ray and Jermaine to get rest. But for Rondo it's a must.
